2024 Pink I Am In the California wine industry there is an emerging class of new wines called “orange wines”. When a white grape is fermented on the skins like in historic days, th e wine develops richness, complexity and a touch of color, too. In 2024 we decided to produce an Orange Wine from the Regan Pinot Grigio (aka Pinot Gris grapes). It should be known that when ripe, Pinot Gris grapes have a distinct bronze color and we expected the color in the wine to reflect that. Voila! The wine is naturally reflecting a distinct hue of pink, so we came up with a creative name…Pink I Am! This wine had a “mind” of its own. The Pinot Gris grapes were fermented for 10 days on the skin, pressed, and then aged in neutral oak barrels. Pink I Am will be released in early May, just in time for Mothers Day festivities!
