Right so this one's for all the vanilla lovers out there. I know vanilla gets called plain sometimes which I think is a bit unfair actually. When it's done right? When it's actually made with real vanilla and good butter and you take the time to get the sponge light and fluffy? There's nothing plain about it. It's classic for a reason. Anyway the pink vanilla cake came about because of my niece. She turned seven a couple months back and told me she wanted a cake that was "vanilla but make it pretty." That was literally what she said. Kids eh. So I thought right pink it is then. Threw some colour through the sponge and did a matching buttercream and honestly? She was buzzing. Her little mates were buzzing. And then other people started asking for the same thing. So here we are. What actually is it? It's our proper vanilla cake recipe. The one I've been tweaking for years until it felt right. Light. Soft. Not too dense. Real butter none of that marge nonsense. Good vanilla extract not the cheap stuff because you'd taste the difference trust me. Then we make it pink. Simple as that. Sometimes we do the sponge pink. Sometimes we keep the sponge plain and do the buttercream pink. Sometimes we go fully pink inside and out. Up to you really. Just let me know what you're after when you order. Who's buying this one? Birthday kids mostly. Especially the ones who want something girly but not too over the top. Grown ups having a giggle and embracing the pink. Actually quite a few people just want a really good vanilla cake and the pink is a bonus. Someone ordered one last week for a baby shower and it looked spot on with decorations round it. If you're in Bromley you can order online and come grab it whenever suits. Or if you want it delivered local just drop us a message and we'll sort something out. Try and give me a couple days notice if you can because we're not a big operation and I like to give every cake the attention it needs. Oh and the colour? I use a proper gel colour. Doesn't change the taste. Doesn't taste weird. Just makes it pink. If you want it a specific shade of pink let me know. Some people want pale and subtle. Some people want bright and loud. Both work. Right. That's the pink one sorted. Vanilla but make it pretty. My niece would be dead chuffed knowing it's got its own listing now.
