The tar-rich sticks are a northern variant of the South American Palo Santo. Produced by hand in a small and slow production, by Johanna in northern Hälsingland. The trees have been taken down with care to become firewood, whereafter the most tar-rich parts of the pine are selected to become Pino Santo. The sticks have a lovely aroma of campfire, forest, and tar, with a touch of rosemary and pine from the organic essential oils used in its production. Do you wonder what the difference is between Pino Santo and Palo Santo? Pino Santo comes from pine trees in Sweden. Our Palo Santo comes from the Bursera Graveloens tree in Peru. The scent is a bit different. Pino Santo smells more of a Swedish “brasa”, like a fireplace in a wooden cottage in the Swedish forest. Pino invites you to take it slow. You often have to burn Pino a bit longer than Palo to get enough smoke. It gives you time to really set your intention and take a few deep breaths.
