Piperonyl acetate smells of sweet cherry and strawberry wrapped in powdery heliotrope warmth — floral, honeyed, with a hawthorn softness. It shares the methylenedioxy backbone of heliotropin but delivers it in a fruitier, more rounded form. It lasts over 400 hours on a blotter. Use it in heliotrope and muguet accords for sweet, fruity depth, or add it to berry compositions where it contributes a natural-smelling cherry-strawberry character without synthetic sharpness. It also works beautifully in lilac and jasmine bases, where its powdery sweetness fills out the floral heart. Note: this product should not be confused with piperonyl acetone (Dulcinyl / Cassione), which is a crystalline solid with a darker, jammier raspberry-blackberry character and a woody dryness. Piperonyl acetate is lighter, more floral, and more cherry-forward — think cherry blossom versus blackberry jam.
