Skirt Coating – Friction-Reducing Piston Enhancement This coating is applied to the piston skirt (the side of the piston that contacts the cylinder wall) to reduce friction during operation. By lowering metal-to-metal contact, the coating promotes smoother piston movement, improves ring seal stability, and minimizes wear on both the piston and cylinder bore. Key Benefits: Reduces friction between the piston and cylinder wall Minimizes wear during cold starts, when oil circulation is limited Maintains lubrication under high-temperature operation Reduces piston slap for quieter, smoother engine operation Improves ring seal stability and piston motion consistency Extends engine life by decreasing metal-to-metal contact and wear Note: Skirt coating is applied during manufacturing and can NOT be removed once coated.
