1 Large Mineral Deodorant, 1 Super Detox Activated Charcoal Mask, and 1 pH Balancing Spray ABOUT OUR DEODORANT: Deodorants don’t keep you from sweating, they simply mask or elimina te body odor when you do sweat. Although it’s sometimes inconvenient to be sweaty, sweating actually removes harmful toxins from your body. Antiperspirants, on the other hand, are made using aluminum compounds that react with your sweat to plug your ducts and prevent you from sweating. If your body can’t sweat out harmful toxins, then those toxins are retained...in this case, they are trapped in your underarms, right where some of your lymph nodes are located. Lymph nodes are small, bean-shaped organs that produce and store blood cells whose purpose is to fight disease and infection. Eliminating toxins near these lymph nodes would, no doubt, be healthier for you than trapping them. If you’ve been using antiperspirants, there will be a detox phase you must go through. Your body will adjust over time, but you may help the process along by using one of our detoxifying masks on your underarms once or twice a week. You may also try our pH balancing Spray. It works well as a refreshing body spray and may increase the effectiveness of the natural deodorant by making your underarms less hospitable to bacteria. Sweat doesn’t stink; it’s the bacteria that thrive in a damp environment that create the odor. The journey to successful use of natural deodorant is a very worthwhile one. Be careful to choose a quality product with ingredients you know are natural. Our deodorant is made from food-grade ingredients (lessening your chances of contact with trace contaminants) and works to eliminate the bacteria that cause the odors by using a special blend of 100% pure essential oils - but NO aluminum. Some helpful tips: Help your body naturally detoxify by drinking plenty of water – try adding a teaspoon of raw apple cider vinegar. Get plenty of exercise. Don’t be afraid to sweat. It’s a natural detoxifier. Wear natural fabrics against your skin. Directions: Apply a small amount to each underarm. Trying to apply too much at one time will result in the deodorant “balling up” and falling to the floor. Later in the day, if needed, reapply a small amount. The deodorant should take care of any odors that have developed from sweating. Scent: We designed the blend of essential oils used in our natural deodorant specifically for the purpose of targeting odor rather than masking it. The scent is strong when the deodorant is first applied but fades quickly. Summer/Winter use: This product is softer and easier to scoop and apply in the warmer months. In the colder months, the product is harder and may even feel “grainy”. To overcome this, scoop out a small amount and press the deodorant to your underarm with your hand for several seconds before trying to rub it onto your skin. Clothing: If you perspired while using natural deodorant, it is recommended that you pre-treat the underarms of your clothing before normal laundering. Our deodorant is oil-based, and although the oils used are “light” oils, buildup and staining can occur without this precaution. Any common pre-treatment should be effective; however, we have only tested our Cleaning Soap Bar. It was found to eliminate even “old” stains that had been through several wash/dry cycles by wetting the stain and/or the soap with water, rubbing the Cleaning Soap Bar over the stain thoroughly, and allowing it to sit for at least 30-60 minutes before laundering. ABOUT OUR pH Balancing SPRAY: Our pH Balancing Spray can help deodorant performance by lowering the pH of your underarms to make them less hospitable to odor causing bacteria. Wait 30 minutes after shaving to apply – or shave at night and use in the morning before applying deodorant. Scented to blend with StouderHouse Mineral Deodorant using 100% pure therapeutic grade essential oils. It also works well as a refreshing body spray. SHAKE IT UP! Why must you shake some of our liquid products before each use? Because we pride ourselves on making our products chemical-free. Due to the questionable safety of chemical emulsifiers that would suspend the particles of essential oils in the rest of the solution, we refuse to use them. Most of the products you buy at the store - yes, even the natural ones - use chemical emulsifiers. So, when you use those products, all you do is pick up the bottle and squirt out the product. When you use our products, give the bottles a good shake to distribute the powerful essential oils throughout the product. Those oil particles rise to the top of the liquid quickly, so shake often. Much like Italian salad dressing, give the bottles a good shake when it's your turn to use it. The products needing a shake are clearly marked on the labels. The extra work required by you allows us to keep our products pure and free from potentially harmful ingredients, ensures that you are getting the maximum quality of our products, and burns a few extra calories for you! 3.5 oz. glass bottle ABOUT OUR SUPER DETOX MASK: This mask is particularly helpful for those with acne or blackheads. The positively charged toxins in your skin are pulled out by the negatively charged bentonite clay and activated charcoal in this mask. Apply to your skin and allow to dry for 5 to 20 minutes. Wash gently with warm water. Ingredients: bentonite clay, activated charcoal, green tea, litsea essential oil Directions: Mix 1 teaspoon of mask powder with a total of 1 teaspoon of your desired liquid(s) - (suggestions: apple cider vinegar, herbal tea, water, lemon juice). Do not use a metal bowl or spoon. We also have small porcelain dishes with wooden spoons available. There is enough powder in each package to make a dozen face masks. Activated charcoal can stain - be careful! It will puff out of the bag when you open it, much like powdered sugar behaves. Tap the powder away from the zip-close top of the bag and open it gently. You may find it less messy to apply at your sink and rinse off in the shower. Use regularly on your face and underarms to remove absorbed toxins. Regular underarm detoxification will improve the performance of natural deodorant. 1.5 oz bag makes 12 masks TREATING ACNE: The key to treating acne is to never allow sweat to stay on your face. Wash with soap EVERY time you sweat. At a minimum, wash your face morning and night. Yes, your diet counts, too. Drink plenty of water – try adding a teaspoon of raw apple cider vinegar to help your body detoxify. Use one of our detoxifying soaps: - Shaving Soap is the best due to the essential oils used and the generous dose of bentonite clay it contains. - Sunshine Mountain Soap has beneficial essential oils and bentonite clay as well as finely ground pumice for a bit of a scrub. - Blue Shampoo contains bentonite clay and has tea tree essential oil for its beneficial medicinal qualities. Blue Shampoo is NOT moisturizing and may cause dryness with twice daily use. - Hunting & Fishing Soap is made with activated charcoal. The anise essential oil scent smells like licorice. - Honey Oat Milk Soap has bentonite clay, local honey (antibacterial & holds in moisture), finely ground oats (gentle scrubbing), and goat’s milk (great for skin due to vitamins, etc). - Peppermint Snow Soap contains kaolin clay. The peppermint essential oil helps shrink pore size and tighten skin. - Tea Tree Mint Soap has bentonite clay and tea tree, as well as mint to tighten the pores. It also contains poppy seeds which can scratch delicate skin. If needed, rub it on a washcloth and pick the poppy seeds off before using on your face. - Yogi Soap has a super dose of activated charcoal, but it also contains coarse black pepper which can scratch delicate skin. If needed, rub it on a washcloth and pick the peppercorns off before using on your face. MASKS We also have 4 detoxifying masks. Refreshing Mask tightens pores with the power of peppermint leaves and essential oil, but the Activated Charcoal Mask is probably best if you’re fighting acne, as it contains both bentonite clay and activated charcoal. We also have a Soothing Mask made with oats and buttermilk, and a Brightening Mask with citrus oils and kaolin clay. Use 2 - 3 times per week. Why DETOX? Toxins are absorbed by our bodies, our skin, every day. There are toxins in food, the air, the detergent residue in our clothing, lotions, sunscreens, colognes, anti-perspirants, etc. To help combat these positively charged toxins, we can wet negatively charged bentonite clay or activated charcoal and apply it to our skin. The positively charged toxins will be attracted to the negatively charged clay or charcoal and be washed away with water. Why our masks are dry powders that you mix as you need them... “I see so many masks for sale in the big box stores these days - most of them in plasti-foil type pouches that consumers cut the end off of to squeeze out the mask. While this is extremely mess-free and convenient, it really doesn’t offer you the best product. Clay and activated charcoal are inert - they do nothing - when they’re in dry powder form. Once they’re wet, they begin exchanging ions with whatever they’re in contact with - plasti-foil included. These masks have already done most, if not all, of what they were intended to do before you even purchase them. Our masks are dry, so that you get maximum performance out of the clay and/or charcoal. You wet the powder when you need it, and the mask begins exchanging ions right away. This is why we recommend that you mix the masks in our ceramic mask dishes, or in the palm of your hand - never in plastic or metal. Because you’re mixing them by hand, they don’t have quite the smoothness of consistency they would have if they were mixed by machine; but what they lack in smoothness of texture, they make up for in performance!” -Stormy
