A modern folktale of trolls and fae creatures, spun from the pen of masterful Finnish cartoonist, Amanda Vähämäki. Though she has remained quietly and continually active in her hom e country, Pixie Lice is her first work for an English audience since The Bun Field, published in 2007 by Drawn & Quarterly.“Amanda Vähämäki may be my favorite artist. I love to be in the worlds she makes. I feel like a guest there, but it feels like a dream of an unknown new home. All the corners are round and the ground is wet with rain and mushrooms. The big world mists and blows around outside but life unfolds in a small heated room with mysteries gently passing through.” — Phil Elverum (The Microphones, Mount Eerie)“It feels good to move through these pages of youthful/magic/discovery-laden enchantment that a rare artist like [Vähämäki] or Sendak is wildly skilled at capturing. Her line cannot be beat. Her figure is so alive, hair for hair, line for line.” — Sean ChristensenAuthor Amanda VähämäkiPages 20Size 8.25 x 10.5Publishing Date December 15, 2021 Show more
