Description The Light-O-Rama (LOR) PixieLink sACN adapter converts standard E1.31 (streaming ACN) into six RS485 output networks. Each output network can be configured as a DMX universe, an Enhanced LOR network, or a PixieLink protocol network using Light-O-Rama software applications. The output port protocol (DMX, ELOR, PixieLink) is individually configurable for each port. 12V Wall Adapter included. When 2 or more E1.31 receivers are connected, a network switch may be required. When a port on the PixieLink adapter is configured as an Enhanced LOR network, the adapter will pick up to 32 universes out of the Ethernet traffic. The intensities associated with a universe will be converted into Enhanced LOR commands and the first universe in the list will be sent to LOR unit ID 01, the second universe in the list to unit ID 02, … the 32nd universe in the list to unit ID 20 (unit IDs are base 16). In total, the Pixielink can output to 192 universes and control up to 32,640 pixels. The Pixielink has double and quad speed that support 192, 170-pixel ports refreshed 38 & 60 times/second. Using a terminator (or a jumper to terminate) on the last Pixie of each port is highly recommended. Note: Software is not included. Need Software? Note: Weatherproof enclosure is not provided. If you are not able to place your Pixielink indoors/in a garage, you must house your Pixielink in an enclosure to use outdoors. The casing on the Pixielink is not waterproof. PixieLink Basic Setup Video Tutorial Details The PixieLink adapter receives sACN or Art-Net over a standard 10/100 Mbps LAN. It will process broadcast messages, and/or messages to its specific IP address. When a port on the PixieLink adapter is configured as a DMX universe, the adapter will pick the first configured universe out of the LAN traffic and output it as a DMX512 RS485 network. The advantage of a PixieLink network over an Enhanced LOR network is guaranteed bandwidth to the Pixie controllers. Pixielink or Aurora Core? Should I Buy an Aurora Core or a Pixielink (with Pixies)? The Pixie16 (and Pixie8, Pixie4, or Pixie2) is designed to be simpler-to-use smart RGB controller system, but you can tap into the advanced capabilities and faster speeds with a Pixielink adapter. The Pixie series alone (no Pixielink) is a better choice if you don't need the advanced capabilities of an Aurora Core. If you already own Pixies and want to keep using your controllers, the Pixie controller series and a Pixielink is a great choice. The Aurora Core is best for advanced users who haven't already invested in multiple Pixie controllers they wish to continue to use but in an advanced capacity. The Light-O-Rama Aurora Core is an advanced smart pixel controller with dozens of user defined variables. This gives you the most versatility but can also make for a complicated configuration. This controller is best for users that have a good understanding of data networking. JP4 Jumper Install a termination resistor (jumper) on JP4 of the LAST Pixie per network port on the Pixielink.
