Dear-Natura Style Placenta and Collagen, 20-Day Supply — 60 Tablets, Pig Placenta Overview The placenta in this product is pig placenta, and the collagen is pig collagen. The previ ous description of this page used the word placenta nine times across four paragraphs and did not once say from what animal. That is the sentence that decides whether the rest of this page concerns you, so it is the first one. Three tablets a day supply pig placenta extract powder 146 mg, collagen 1,000 mg, hyaluronic acid 1 mg, vitamin C 80 mg, and vitamins B1, B2 and B6. 60 tablets, 20 days. On the number you will see everywhere else: 4,015 mg. That figure is the liquid-extract equivalent — what 146 mg of dried powder corresponds to before drying. The mass of placenta material in the tablet is 146 mg. We print both figures because the larger one is the one that circulates in listings, and the smaller one is the mass of material actually in the tablet — which is the figure you can compare against another product. People who already know they want a placenta supplement and want the animal, the form and the quantity stated before they buy Anyone comparing placenta products and wanting the powder figure rather than the extract-equivalent figure, so that two products can be compared on the same basis People who want the placenta and a gram of collagen in one tablet rather than in two products Not for: anyone observing halal or kosher; vegetarians and vegans; anyone who avoids pork or animal-tissue products for religious, ethical or personal reasons; under-18s; anyone pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding; anyone under medical treatment without asking a doctor first. If you want collagen without pork, marine collagen is the alternative — and there is no placenta equivalent that is not animal tissue. How to Use Take three tablets a day. Swallow them with water or lukewarm water. You can take all three at once or split them across the day; either is fine. Do not exceed three tablets. More does not make the placenta content do anything different. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and damp, and out of reach of children. This product is therefore not halal and not suitable for vegetarians, vegans, or anyone who avoids pork for any other reason. Gelatin is declared alongside it. We put this first rather than in a parenthesis because it is the fact that decides whether the rest of the page is relevant to you. What placenta extract is. It is an extract of pig placenta, obtained as a by-product of pig farming. We describe it plainly because a page that never says what a raw material is takes the choice away from the reader — and for a good many people this particular raw material is a decision, not a detail. Shellac is a resin secreted by the lac insect, used here in the coating. It is relevant to vegetarians and vegans and to some halal rulings, so it is named rather than left inside the word 'coating'. Vitamin C at 80 mg is the only ingredient here with an authorised European claim relating to skin, and that claim concerns the body's own collagen formation. No authorised claim exists for placenta extract in any jurisdiction we ship to. Composition and specification as declared by Asahi Group Foods on its official product page. Cautions Contains pig placenta and pig collagen, with gelatin declared. Not halal, not kosher, not vegetarian and not vegan. If you avoid pork or animal-tissue products, this is not for you, and nothing else on this page changes that. The coating contains shellac, a resin of insect origin. Asahi prints three exclusions on the pack itself: do not take this if you are under medical treatment or taking prescribed medicine without asking your doctor first; not for children or anyone under 18; and not while pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Placenta extract carries no authorised health claim anywhere we ship to. The previous description of this page said the product supports cellular renewal, improves skin elasticity, reduces the appearance of fine lines and promotes a luminous complexion. Those statements are gone; nothing has replaced them, because there is nothing accurate to put in their place. Collagen and placenta extract are proteins. If you have been told to limit protein because of kidney disease, count 1.26 g a day towards that limit. Do not exceed the stated daily serving. More is not better with this formula. Stop taking it and speak to a doctor if you feel unwell after use. Store away from direct sunlight, high temperature and humidity, and out of the reach of children. This is a food, not a medicine. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and it is not a substitute for a varied diet or for medical advice. Package Contents One pouch of 60 tablets, in the Japanese-market pack with Japanese labelling. At three tablets a day that is 20 days. The full declaration and nutrition panel are reproduced on this page; the maker encloses no English leaflet. So is the collagen, and gelatin is declared. The product is therefore not halal, not kosher, not vegetarian and not vegan, and the coating additionally contains shellac, an insect resin. The previous description of this page used the word placenta nine times and never answered this question, which is why it is now the first one asked and answered. Is it 146 mg or 4,015 mg of placenta? 146 mg is the mass of placenta extract powder in the daily serving. 4,015 mg is what that powder is stated to be equivalent to as liquid extract, before drying — and 4,015 is the number that circulates in listings, because it is the larger one. Compare 146 mg against another product's powder figure, not against its extract-equivalent figure. What does placenta extract do? We cannot tell you, and we would rather say so than invent something. There is no authorised health claim for placenta extract in Japan, the EU or the UK, and this product carries no function-claim notification. What we can tell you is what it is, how much of it is in a tablet, what animal it came from and what else is in the pack — which is what this page now does. How long does one pack last? 20 days. Three tablets a day, 60 tablets. It is the shortest supply of any product in this range, which is worth knowing before comparing its price against a 30- or 60-day pack. Is it suitable during pregnancy? No. Asahi prints an exclusion for pregnant and breastfeeding women and for women planning a pregnancy on the pack, alongside exclusions for under-18s and for anyone under medical treatment. Show more
