Plain Headband is worked in one piece, entirely in stockinette stitch. The project starts with a simple provisional cast on. The tube is then worked in the round, finished by grafting the stitches using Kitchener stitch (the seam is not visible from the right side).Sizes 1 (2, 3). To fit head circumference, approx.: 54–56 (56–58, 58–60) cm. Finished measurements, approx.: width 23 (24, 25) cm, height 11 (12, 13) cm. Gauge 16 stitches x 23 rows = 10 x 10 cm, worked in the round in stockinette stitch on 5 mm needles. Row gauge is not crucial but differences will affect the amount of the yarn used for the project. Yarn, suggestion 1 Rauma Garn, Vams – 100% wool (83m/50g): 100 (100, 100) gram. Yarn, suggestion 2 – one strand of both yarns are held together throughout: Filcolana, Peruvian Highland Wool – 100% wool (100m/50g): 50 (50–100, 100) gram. Isager Garn, Soft Fine – 63% alpaca, 26% silk, 11% yak (150m/25g): 25 (25, 25) gram. Or approx. 90 (100, 115) meter of other yarn that gives a firm fabric at the correct gauge. Suggested needles 5 mm circular needles, 40 cm. A spare circular needle in a smaller size (approx. 3–4 mm), 60–100 cm. Notions Stitch marker, tapestry needle, sharp scissors.
