Planaria is a headache problem for every shrimp keeper. They usually appear in the shrimp tank when overfeeding, having dead shrimps, or from wood, rocks, and substrate. It looks disgusting and harmful that it can attack weak shrimps, shrimplets, and molting shrimps. So, We rarely see many shrimplets in the tank having planaria. Therefore, when your tank has planaria, they should be removed as soon as possible. Besides reducing feeding and doing a water change, there are 2 main ways to remove planaria that are using traps and chemicals. Using traps is a cheaper method and suitable for all types of shrimp tanks. Our Planaria traps are made of transparent acrylic, with a design of 8 small holes that trap planaria in and they can not escape. We just need to put a small piece of shrimp food into the trap, place the trap upside down on the ground to help the planaria sniffs quickly and get into the trap, then turn off the light for a few hours, after that you will see plenty of planaria inside the trap. just take it out or soak it in hot water, saltwater then wash it, and reuse it. It is best to trap them at night and harvest the results the next morning.
