Unlike a tree planting spade, the PLANTEM® Dibber’s unique triangular cross-sectional shaped body is 30mm thick at its centre. Insert it once to create a triangular pocket for small cells or bare-root saplings. Remove, twist and insert a second time to make a rectangular hole for larger cells. If planting in loose soil the tree sapling can be firmed in after inserting; on sites with more compacted soils, the dibbers flat front face can be used to backslot (roughly 6” away) and lever the soil upwards to loosen before heeling in, reducing air pockets around the cell and promoting root spread beyond.
