Snug by hand — the working load tightens the connection. Press a PlasterKing® #50 (yellow) or #100 (red) hook-and-loop polishing pad squarely onto the face, centered on the backer. Submerge or wet the plaster surface. PlasterKing® is wet-use only. Polish at or below 5,500 RPM with light, even pressure. Let the diamonds do the work. After use, rinse the backer pad and pads with clean water and air-dry away from heat. Using a standard right-hand thread backer on a reverse-thread tool will cause the pad to unthread mid-cut.Which PlasterKing® polishing pads fit this backer? Both Alpha® 7" PlasterKing® polishing pads — PS070050 (#50, yellow) and PS070100 (#100, red) — attach via the hook-and-loop face. Can I use PlasterKing® dry?No. PlasterKing® is wet-use only. All pool contractors polish wet, and dry use will damage the diamond layer and shorten pad life.Is this the same as the MP758HL backer pad?No. MP758HL is the Alpha® 5/8"-11 (standard right-hand) backer pad for rotary polishers. PK710HH is a specially stocked M10-1.25 reverse-thread variant for pneumatic underwater polishers. Why does Alpha® offer only 2 grits for PlasterKing®?Pool contractors typically finish at #100 grit because higher reflective finishes are unnecessary once the pool is filled with water. Is there seasonality for pool-plaster polishing?Yes. Most pool-polishing work happens before and after pool season, so demand for PlasterKing® and its backer pads peaks in spring and fall.
