In spring, its canopy is covered in white blossom, softly blushed pink as the flowers open from deeper pink buds, creating a light, fragrant display. Mid-green foliage turns warm bronzed-yellow in autumn before falling to reveal masses of glossy, postbox-red crab apples. These vibrant fruits persist well into winter, adding long-lasting seasonal interest. This pollution-tolerant pleached tree thrives in most soils and urban conditions, including chalk. Its larger crab apples are also suitable for culinary use, meaning it qualifies for zero VAT.
