Plexi Breed is a pedal designed to reproduce the sound of the amplifier heads that shaped the history of rock music. Plexi style amplifiers have been widely used for decades and are closely associated with many iconic guitar tones. The pedal offers three accurately recreated Plexi amplifier models, selectable via a toggle switch for quick access to different tonal characteristics. The JTM mode recreates the circuitry of the JTM45, capturing the behavior of the rectifier valve and delivering the characteristic sag associated with its power supply response. The 1959 mode reproduces the sound of the 100 watt Plexi known for its high headroom and detailed clarity. The 1987 mode models the 50 watt version, offering slightly more pronounced distortion and a faster, more responsive attack. The remaining controls are shared across all modes. The Normal control sets the gain of the Normal channel, known for its strong body and punch in the low frequencies. The High Treble control adjusts the gain of the brighter channel focused on mid to high frequencies. The Tone control provides overall tonal shaping, with lower values producing a darker sound and higher values adding brightness and edge. The Volume control sets the overall output level of the pedal.
