The Prima Luce Lab Side by Side Losmandy Plate 240mm belongs to the PLUS system (Prima Luce Universal System) and allows you to mount two telescopes in parallel on the same mount. You can also install a DSLR or mirrorless camera in parallel to the main telescope for widefield astrophotography. Includes 1x Losmandy 240mm Dovetail Bar and 2x Small Dual Dovetail Clamps. The Losmandy bar has a system of slots, drilled and threaded holes that maximize the compatibility between parts, allowing several mechanical combinations and assembly solutions. For side by side mounting, attach the dovetail clamps the furthest holes from the centre, spaced approx. 202mm apart. Note: Precise alignment of each telescope may require an X-Y or tip-tilt positioning system, due to minor flexure and manufacturing tolerances of every component. This is the case with all side by side setups. Each component of the PLUS system is carved from aluminium blocks that are CNC machined. Then, the aluminium is sandblasted to achieve a very smooth surface finish and is anodized (hard anodizing) to increase the hardness of the material and to protect it from oxidation.
