A guilty, accusing conscience can be an awfully harsh companion to live with.Do you have a guilty conscience that is gnawing at you day and night? Jesus Christ is God, and He is the only person who can remove the guilt that torments you. Jesus Christ can forgive you and make your life as clean as fresh fallen snow. Only God can restore your clear conscience.The greatest thing that ever happened to me is that I came to Jesus Christ confessing and forsaking my horrible and ungodly sins and pleading with the Son of God to have mercy on me.Jesus was more than ready and willing to forgive me and cleanse me of all my sin.Jesus Christ cast all my sins into the sea-of-forgetfulness, and God will never bring them up again. My sins are gone; they no longer exist. I still remember them, but God does not.One day, my time on this earth will be over, and I will face God and His judgment. I will stand alone before the most powerful being in the universe. I will stand before the God who hates, abhors, and punishes sin. I will stand before the God who throws sinners into a Devil’s Hell. The great news is: God will not see me as the horrible sinner that I am. God will see me as one whom He has already forgiven.Jesus Christ took my sin and gave me His righteousness, and that is how God will see me. I should be thrown into the flames of Hell, but I will not receive the justice my sins deserve. My sins were washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ. There is nothing special about me, and I have done nothing that could make me worthy of God’s love.God created me in His own image, and He loved me as one of His own wayward children. God took away my sins, nailing them to Jesus Christ on Calvary’s cross. This dirty old sinner will now stand before God just as if I were as righteous as Jesus Christ.You were also created in the image of God.God will not have fellowship with you because of your sins which must be justly punished. However, God wants to fellowship with you eternally so badly that He as God the Father punished God the Son for the sins you committed. Jesus Christ died, He was buried, and He rose again on the third day so that God could justify forgiving you and to restore the opportunity to fellowship with you forever.It is your ungodly sins that torment your conscience. It is your sin that separates you from God. It is your sin that condemns you to a Devil’s Hell.In Isaiah 59:2, God says:“Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” God defines sin in 1 John 3:4:“Sin is the transgression of the law.” Believing that there is only one God is great, but that will not fix the sin problem or restore to you a clear conscience. You will never have peace with God until you fix your sin problem. Receiving Jesus Christ as your God is the only solution for your soul gaining peace with God. What can you do about your sin problem?First, nothing can undo your past sins, but God has a fervent desire to forgive them. You can turn to Jesus Christ from living in sin, to live for God. God will reward you by making you a member of His family, becoming His son or daughter, and God will give you a new heart.There is no specially worded prayer to pray. Salvation is not about saying the right words. From within your heart of hearts talk to God:1. Confess and forsake your sins.2. Ask God for His mercy.3. Invite Jesus Christ to be the God of your life.If you do, God promises to receive you as His own dear child. He promises to forgive all your sin and give you eternal life.God invites you to call on Him.He promises to save you from all your sin.Rom 10:13 says:“…Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Come clean with God today, receive Jesus Christ as the God of your life, and you will gain peace with God, and peace in your conscience too.
