Before The World Began …God chose to save mankind. Ephesians 1:4 “... he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.” Have you ever thought that the world was not supposed to be this way? Well, before the world was even created, God already had an answer to the problems that would come with sin. This solution is pictured throughout the first three days of creation. Creation Day 1:Christ’s Entrance“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light” (Genesis 1:3). In the beginning, God created light so man could physically see. In the first step of God’s plan to redeem man-kind, God sent Jesus as the light of the world so that man could spiritually see the way to eternal life. Jesus himself stated, “... I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12). According to the Miriam-Webster Dictionary, light is defined as “something that makes vision possible” (Miriam-Webster Dictionary). Without light, we walk in darkness, and the same is true spiritually. Christ came into the world to be a light to show the nations of the world their need for a Savior. However, why point out a need without having a solution?Creation Day 2:Christ’s Separation“And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters” (Genesis 1:6). On the second day of God’s creation, God separated Heaven from Earth, symbolizing man’s future separation from God as a result of sin.On the cross, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, endured separation from the Father so that we could have access to God. “... Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, ... My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46). When man sinned we were separated from God, and because God is holy, He cannot even look at sin. God had to turn His back on His only Son as He paid the price of sin for the entire world. Through His separation, Jesus Christ offered the solution to man’s need for a Savior.Creation Day 3:Christ’s Resurrection“And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so” (Genesis 1:9). On the third day, God raised the land from underneath the waters. Likewise, Jesus himself was resurrected on the third day after His death, giving mankind hope for a new life. “... like as Christ was raised up from the dead … even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4). ConclusionThe solution to the problem of sin in this world and in our hearts is Jesus Christ, who “was foreordained before the foundation of the world …” (1 Peter 1:20). Before the world began, God had already established a plan to restore mankind and promise him a new earth one day. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ was that plan. Creation agrees with Scripture that Jesus “was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification” (Romans 4:25). Jesus said that now is the time to repent and believe (Mark 1:15). “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36).
