An original three color riso print, printed in blue, green, and florescent orange! The florescent orange is very hard to accurately capture, it is very bright and mixes with the blue to make a very beautiful purple. Print measures 5.5" x 8.5" Printed on a thick ivory paper for a vintage look. This piece is from an original graphite drawing. Riso prints are a bit unique in that misregistration can happen which is normal and makes each print a bit different (each color layer is printed separately). A good example of this is the raccoon image (the orange and blue are slightly off). Riso inks are not lightfast, prolonged exposure to direct sun will only bring sadness. Print is sold unframed. However, creating a career which merges the two together took quite some time to figure out. I am a self-taught artist with a degree in atmospheric science and a certificate in Science Illustration. I decided to pursue art while presenting my research at the undergrad symposium at the University of Washington in 2013. It took seven years of developing my skills and completion of the science illustration program in 2020 before I started Psychedelic Lens, the business. My focus is to showcase and educate about the psychedelic beauty of the natural world, specifically of those who reside in the wonderful Cascadian bioregion which I call home. Psychedelic Lens was born in 2020, merging the psychedelic and natural worlds into affordable, sustainable, and educational art.
