A three-quarter-length portrait, slightly to the left, showing Churchill seated wearing the uniform of Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports with the ribbon and star of the Garter. The p ainting is signed, dated and described on the back of the canvas. The portrait is based on the Trinity House portrait by Sir Osward Birley; the head copied from the original sketch with the assistance of photographs and the uniform altered from that of an Elder Brother.
