Inside Holbeck engine shed, by Eric Treacy, 1953. At this time steam traction was starting to be phased out in favour of diesel and electric locomotives. Workers at locomotive depo ts were having to learn how to service these new types of traction. Holbeck shed closed to steam traction in 1967, and was demolished in 1970. Show more
