This beautiful scene shows squirrels in an exquisite plane tree and a huntsman attempting to climb the tree to catch them. Produced between 1605 and 1608, this work is ascribed to the artist Abu’l Hasan. Abu'l Hasan worked in the court of the Mughal emperor Jahangir between c.1599 and 1627 and painted scenes of domestic life, political paintings, and several impressive portraits.
