This beautifully illustrated 14th-century manuscript edition of Geoffrey Chaucer's Canterbury Tales features an illustration of the author himself, in the illuminated letter 'a'. S ome scholars believe the illustration was painted by Hermann Scheerre. This illustration shows the opening to the Prologue and includes foliate borders. Shelfmark: Lansdowne 851, f.2 Show more
