These beautiful wooden animals are handmade by Japanese company T-lab. Polepole is a Swahili term meaning "slowly, slowly", which is exactly how each of these delicate animals are made. Made of soft albizia wood from Indonesia and carefully sanded to a soft buttery-smooth feel, each animal is then finished and hand-painted by craftspeople in Japan. The handmade nature of these animals means that each will have their own unique warm expression and charm.
