A spirited study in arrested motion, the Pole Vaulter captures the athletic figure mid-ascent with a sculptural confidence that commands attention from any vantage point. At twenty -five inches tall, the piece carries genuine presence — proportioned generously enough to anchor a console or library shelf without overwhelming the compositions around it. Maitland-Smith brings their characteristic command of figurative form to this work, balancing dynamism with the kind of quiet craftsmanship that rewards a second look. Show more
