Polly's Story Polly started life as a handmade quilt - partly sewn by hand, partly by machine, and she resided on a bed in the dark, barely noticed. In her new converted life, she’s longing to enjoy the gaze of everyone she meets for years to come (and one should never underestimate a converted quilt on a mission!) Polly has a light fluffiness about her and holds incredible form - one of the reasons inspiring this design. That, and the fantastic scalloped edge which in one fell swoop presented the skirt hem and the darling little “Ja-cape”. When converting quilts one always has to respect the original pattern each beautiful quilt presents, and the satisfaction that comes from an outfit emerging as if it had always been destined for the specific conversion it has become hard to describe. It’s one of the greatest joys ever to be felt in my opinion (clearly!) How to Wear A ja-cape with short sleeves will see you through all the way through the year: Spring, Summer (in the UK or evenings elsewhere!!), Autumn with a light sweater beneath or Winter, with white woolly tights and ankle wellies. The skirt - as gorgeous with a big jumper as with a tank top and sandals - hi or low. One thing is for sure, it will be much discussed and admired under your care - that I can personally guarantee.
