Polwarth wool is exceptionally soft, boasting a fine fibre diameter of 22 to 25 microns. Developed in 19th-century Australia, the Polwarth breed is a cross between 75% Merino and 2 5% Lincoln sheep, combining the best qualities of both breeds. Polwarth wool has a longer staple length (approximately 4 to 5 1/2 inches) when compared to Merino. This unique combination of softness and length makes Polwarth wool a favourite. Polwarth+Silk is easy to draft, super soft, with a decadent shimmer from the silk.
