Product Overview The Poly Studio USB video bar is a single-chassis 4K camera, six-element microphone array, and stereo speaker system for small conference rooms and huddle spaces. It is a USB peripheral, not a standalone room system: the bar requires a connected PC, Mac, or laptop to run Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Webex, or any other meeting application. Because it enumerates as a standard UVC camera and UAC audio device, it works with whatever client the host already runs and needs no driver installation. Automatic group framing and speaker tracking, Poly NoiseBlockAI, and Acoustic Fence give a huddle room the camera work and audio rejection normally associated with a full DSP-based conference room. Product Description The Poly Studio USB bar was designed to replace a rack of separate components in small and huddle rooms. A single-lens camera captures 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) at 30 fps across a 110° horizontal and 120° diagonal field of view with 5x digital zoom, and automatic group framing and speaker tracking reframe the shot as the conversation moves around the table. Audio is the reason most integrators specify this bar over a webcam: a six-element beamforming microphone array reaches approximately 15 ft, stereo speakers cover 100 Hz to 20 kHz at 90 dB sensitivity, and Poly Acoustic Clarity provides full-duplex conversation with acoustic echo cancellation. NoiseBlockAI suppresses HVAC noise, paper shuffling, and keyboard clatter, while Acoustic Fence keeps voices from outside the room out of the call — a practical requirement in open-plan offices and glass-walled meeting spaces. Specify this bar when the meeting software belongs on compute you already manage. The Poly Studio USB bar is a peripheral and will not place a call by itself: the room PC, a docked laptop, or a BYOD device runs the client, and the bar supplies camera, microphones, and speakers over one USB Type-C connection. That is the opposite model from an appliance bar such as the Poly Studio X32, which runs Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and Google Meet natively with no PC in the room. Both approaches are valid; picking the wrong one is the most common specification error in this category. HP Poly rates the Studio USB bar for groups of six to nine people, which places it above the smaller Poly Studio R30 in table coverage and microphone count. Deployment and management were built for fleets. The bar ships with a wall mount kit, a table stand, an AC power adapter, a remote control, and a USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable, so it can be installed under a display, on a wall, or on the table itself. Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.2 support cloud management through Poly Lens, letting administrators push firmware and settings changes remotely instead of visiting each room. A Kensington lock slot secures the unit in shared spaces. For a clean display-mounted installation use the Poly Studio USB display mounting kit. Longer tables benefit from the Poly Studio table microphone, which connects to the bar through the line input, and the Poly Studio expansion microphone cable extender pack extends that run when the microphone sits at the far end of the room. Key Features Plug-and-Play USB Connection — Enumerates as a standard UVC camera and UAC audio device over one USB Type-C cable, so it works with any meeting client the host PC or Mac runs. 4K UHD Camera — Captures 3840 x 2160 at 30 fps across a 110° horizontal field of view with 5x digital zoom to cover a full small-room table. Automatic Group Framing and Speaker Tracking — Reframe the room or follow the active talker without an operator or a separate camera controller. Six-Element Beamforming Microphone Array — Picks up voice to approximately 15 ft and steers toward the person speaking rather than the loudest reflective surface. Stereo Speakers — Cover 100 Hz to 20 kHz at 90 dB sensitivity, delivering intelligible far-end audio without an external amplifier or DSP. Poly Acoustic Clarity — Provides full-duplex conversation with acoustic echo cancellation so both ends can speak at once without clipping. NoiseBlockAI and Acoustic Fence — Suppress in-room distractions and reject voices originating outside the meeting space. Poly Lens Cloud Management — Lets administrators push firmware and configuration to an entire fleet of rooms without visiting each space. Flexible Mounting — Ships with both a wall mount kit and a table stand, so the same SKU covers display, wall, and tabletop installations. Expansion Microphone Input — A line input accepts an optional table microphone for rooms where the table runs past the array's pickup range. The bar is a USB peripheral, not a room system. A connected PC, Mac, or laptop runs the meeting application while the bar provides camera, microphones, and speakers. If a room needs to join scheduled meetings with no PC present, specify an appliance bar such as the Poly Studio X32 instead. Which meeting platforms work with it?It is certified for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet, and because it presents as a standard UVC camera and UAC audio device it also works with Webex, Skype for Business, and any other application that accepts standard USB video and audio. Platform support is determined by the host device. What room size and table depth does it cover?HP Poly rates the bar for groups of six to nine people. The six-element beamforming array picks up voice to approximately 15 ft, which sets the practical table depth; beyond that, add the Poly Studio table microphone through the line input. How is the bar mounted in a conference room?It ships with both a wall mount kit and a table stand. For a display-mounted installation above or below a screen, use the Poly Studio USB display mounting kit, which provides the dedicated bracket hardware for this chassis. How does a fleet of these bars get managed?Poly Lens provides cloud management for firmware updates, configuration, and device health across sites. Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.2 on the bar support that management path, so administrators do not need to touch each room to apply a change. How does this bar compare with the Poly Studio R30?The R30 is the smaller, lower-cost huddle-room bar with a three-element microphone array and a single speaker, rated for three to five people. The Poly Studio USB bar uses a six-element array and stereo speakers and is rated for six to nine, so it is the better fit for longer tables and larger groups. Can it be integrated into an existing AV system? The bar connects to the host over one USB Type-C cable and provides a line input and audio input for an expansion microphone. It does not include HDMI outputs or a codec, so display switching and content sharing are handled by the room PC or the existing AV system rather than by the bar. What warranty and support are included? The unit carries the Poly standard one-year limited warranty. Poly+ service agreements are available separately for extended coverage, advance hardware replacement, and technical support; contact Creation Networks for the correct coverage tier for your deployment.
