Poly Styrene's 'Flower Aeroplane' album marked a departure from the loud, rebellious energy of her punk band X-Ray Spex, showing a more introspective and experimental side of her artistry. 'Flower Aeroplane' is characterised by a minimalist, ethereal sound that blends elements of post-punk, new wave, and ambient music, with softer instrumentation and a more delicate vocal style from Poly Styrene.
