Foam Sales' PE30 Polyethylene Foam Sheets are of medium firmness suitable for most applications requiring this type of Closed Cell Foam. They come in sheet size 2400x1200mm in your choice of thickness up to 100mm. Product density is 30kg/m3. Colour is black, with some thicknesses in mid grey. The chemically cross linked and closed cell structure of this PE30 foam makes it stable, impermeable to water and moisture-intrusion, to fungi, bacteria, and to air. The sheets are resistant to common acids, alkilies, and chemicals, to fuels and oil, and are moderately resistant to UV light degradation in the outdoors. Foam Sales' PE foam products are dust-free, non-abrasive and inert. These PE30 sheets have high thermal resistance, being used in some applications for thermal insulation. They are light in weight, flexible and compressible, and have moderate to good recovery after repeated periods of short-term compression. Polyethylene is an industrial foam used commercially, in construction, and also in industrial and domestic applications. PE's uses include impact absorption and protection, vibration dampening, load deflection, expansion joints in concrete, seals and gaskets, thermal and sound insulation where flexible products are required, and marine buoyancy and flotation. PE sheet is also used in spa covers, camping mats, sports and exercise mats, boat fenders, and high impact marine and mining applications. This product, together with Foam Sales' other closed cell foam sheets can be thermo formed in an oven, or by using a hot air gun. This PE30 grade of polyethylene is well suited (together with our firmer PE45) for use in Pelican Cases, and for the protection and safe storage of instruments and equipment in road cases.
