Also known as he shou wu 'poor man's ginseng', roots of this woody vine are used as a tonic in traditional Chinese medicine. It is believed to restore vitality, and if you saw the growth rate of this plant, you certainly believe that it may indeed be possible! Evergreen vine with red stems, heart shaped leaves, and small white flowers is fast growing to 20 feet. This plant can easily become invasive - it is best planted in containers to avoid problems.
