Day 5: Repeat the same dose. Before treatment, turn off and remove activated carbon, ozone, UV sterilizers, and protein-skimmer carbon. They strip the active ingredient and reduce effectiveness. The skimmer can run after 24 hours; carbon should stay offline for the duration of the treatment cycle. Maintain stable temperature, salinity, and oxygenation throughout treatment. Do not perform large water changes during the dosing window. After day 9–10, resume normal filtration and run fresh carbon to clear residuals. Should I run carbon during treatment?No. Carbon will strip the active ingredient and undermine the treatment.
