Pondscape is the kind of game you play when you want something clever, calming, and just competitive enough to keep everyone leaning over the table squinting at frogs. Over 15 bris k rounds, you’ll build your own pond by placing frogs and biomes, trying to create the most harmonious (and high-scoring) ecosystem possible. Each frog has opinions. They like certain environments, prefer certain neighbors, and reward you for thoughtful planning. Pull it off, and you’ll score points for well-formed groups and balanced habitats. Rush it, and your pond might feel more like a swampy mess. Then there’s the jumping frog. This little overachiever hops around hunting for food and can seriously boost your score if your pond is stocked just right. It’s a small mechanic with big “oh no, that was clever” energy. Plays smoothly with 1–4 players in about 30 minutes, making Pondscape a great pick for a relaxed game night, a café table, or that one friend who says they don’t like card games but absolutely will like this one.
