Dichondra argentea Commonly known as Silver Ponyfoot, Silver Ponysfoot, Kidneyweed, Silver Falls, Silver Nickel Vine. A perennial groundcover with silky, silver-gray foliage that h as a metallic appearance in the sun. Plants grow to only a couple inches tall and spread by adventitious runners to form a solid cover from spring through late fall. Semi to fully deciduous in winter. Great for covering large areas in sunny sites with well-draining soil. Also beautiful spilling over retaining walls or out of hanging baskets. Plant in full sun to part shade in a well-draining soil and irrigate occasionally. Tolerates heat and drought. Native to desert regions in western Texas, New Mexico, southeastern Arizona and northern Mexico.
