This painting entitled "Poolbeg" features the wet sands of Sandymount Strand at low tide with the unmistakeable and iconic Poolbeg Towers reflected in the rippling puddles and dominating the skyline. The colours in the sky have been applied with Johnman's inimitable palate gently missed into each other. The sand is created, using a vibrant metallic gold, overlaid with a transparent, gold-glitter varnish to give it the sparkle and lustre of being wet. The puddles are painted with metallic silver adding to the lustre of the piece. Measuring 28cm x 22cm it is ready to hang, framed in a beautiful, white wooden frame and is presented in a cellophane gift pack with details of the artist.
