When it comes to furniture building poplar is not a popular choice. While it's classified as a hardwood - poplar trees have leaves rather than needles, it's actually softer than ma ny types of pine species. In furniture it's generally used as a secondary wood, wood that's usually not seen on the outside of a piece. The insides of drawers is one example. But! As you'll see in the accompanying video, it can be quite striking if the right pieces are chosen.
