Porcelain Speedbit - Carbide Tipped Drill Bits The Porcelain Speedbit is a tungsten carbide-tipped, spear-point glass/tile drill bit specifically designed for drilling quickly and efficiently through porcelain, glass, and other hard surfaces in a variety of applications. Features Sold Individually Tungsten Carbide-Tipped, Spear Point Glass/Tile Drill Bit 3X Longer Life & 2X Faster than standard glass/tile bits Drills 10+ holes per bit (based on PEI class porcelain tile with 1/4in Speedbit) Internal test results show the Porcelain Speedbut drilled more than 3 times as many holes and more than twice as fast as most competitive bits Faster Drilling Times (average 30 sec/hole) Specifically designed for porcelain, glass, and harder substrates Can drill near edges of tiles/glass without cracking substrate Clean, precise holes Quick & easy startup, no wandering Recommended drilling speed of 2,300 rpm (handheld drills only) 4-piece variety pack includes one each of the 1/8", 3/16", 1/4" and 5/16" speed bits Recommended For Porcelain Tile Ceramic Tile Marble Glass Tile Granite Concrete Block Brick Quartz Crystallized Glass Applications Frameless Shower Doors Masonry Bathroom Partitions Glass / Decorative Glass Bathroom Accessories Mirrors Tiles Instructions (for maximum durability) 1: DIP IN WATER before drilling and about every 5 seconds during drilling (more often when going through harder materials). We find dipping in water is more effective at cooling the Porcelain bits than spraying. 2: FIRM PRESSURE: Let the bit do the work—do not apply excessive pressure. Place the drill bit on the specified mark, apply pressure, listen for a slight CRUNCH, and start your drilling process. Drill straight into the hole, and do not wiggle the drill. 3: USE PROPER DRILLING SPEED: Speedbit: 2,300 rpms and slowed down while breaking through the hole. NOTE the higher speed for the Speedbit as most other spear point bits recommend slower speeds of 400-800 rpms. 4: Handheld Drills Only. 5: Do not use dull or damaged bits. 6: Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles and heavy-duty work gloves during use and when handling bit.
