At the Annual Gala in 2024, Chad Luberger and Gail McCoy talked about exploring new ways to use her current paper technique. She tried painting the whole background but it didn't h ave the distinct variations the paper provided. Then, McCoy went hiking for a month. The expansive sky out west got her to think about painting the intense blues int he sky and continue with the great colors and patterns the paper provides for everything else.
