A characteristic public building Posthuset(The Post Office), inaugurated in 1906, is a characteristic but distinctive representative of the public buildings created at the turn of the century in 1900.The architect behind the building is Ferdinand Boberg, and a couple of years earlier had also made the drawings for the Central Post Office in Stockholm. He was one of the country's leading architects around the turn of the century in 1900.The building has been rebuilt in several stages. In 1944, a fifth recessed floor was added with window panes after drawings by Erik Lallerstedt. Later renovations - designed by White Architects through Jan Holmgren - have involved extensive interior changes. The post office is a building monument. Show more
