Released on September 9, 1984, through EMI Records, Powerslave is Iron Maiden's fifth studio album. Produced by Martin Birch, the album blends traditional heavy metal with elements of Egyptian and ancient themes, which are especially evident in the track "Revelations." The cover art, designed by Derek Riggs, shows a skeletal, ancient Egyptian version of Eddie with pyramids in the background.
