A piece of synth history The original PPG 1002 was one of the last fully analog synthesizers Wolfgang Palm ever built. Introduced in the mid-1970s, it was a portable, monophonic analog machine made in tiny numbers, and it laid the groundwork for everything that followed: the PPG 360, the Wave 2, the Wave 2.2, and the wavetable synthesis that made PPG a legend. Only around two dozen originals were ever made, and barely a handful still work today. For decades, owning a real 1002 was close to impossible. The Mk2 changes that.
