Firstly is the standard protection from the earmuff itself, which offers 24dB of protection. Voice Activity Detection (VAD) The new V5 Headset is also built with a voice activity detection (VAD) system, which is designed to cut out background noise when speaking into the microphone. Let's face it, flying can be loud and when you're talking to someone via the microphone it can be a challenge to hear them in the air. The VAD system does a fantastic job at cutting out the background noise of the wind, motor, propeller, etc and hyper focusing on just the pilots voice.
