The face of the advertising campaign is actor Jake Gyllenhaal, and despite the name, this isn't really aquatic at all — it's a refined aromatic fougère with modern polish. The opening is pretty synthetic at first, but that doesn't last long, as it immediately turns into a spicy and fresh mix of bergamot and pink pepper. Minutes after, the fragrance brings some herbaceous notes into play, like the sage and mugwort, and you also get a nice lavender and iris undertone. The main floral note here is the iris, along with that suede quality and juicy citrus, you will get a fresh and aromatic aroma, with a touch of the lavender — smooth, slightly powdery, and unexpectedly elegant for a blue fragrance. As it settles down, the musk, vetiver and patchouli, a classic combination of notes, take over to make for a dry, fresh and musky finisher. Longevity is decent in terms of longevity (5-6 hours on me at least) with a moderate projection, though overall longevity is actually pretty good for an EdT (5-6 hours), it's just projection that is the problem — maybe 30 minutes to 1 hour of moderate projection, then switches up to a weak (but relatively durable) skin scent. It kind of sits in the middle between Bleu de Chanel and Dylan Blue in terms of both scent and performance, with some reviewers noting a resemblance to Prada L'Homme's iris-lavender DNA given a fresh blue update. You'll definitely get compliments with this one — it's office-safe, broadly appealing, and wears closer to skin than most blue fragrances, making it ideal for those who want something refined and quietly confident rather than loud.
