Who is Snow White? Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is Disney's first animated feature film, released in 1937 and based on The Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Snow White is a princess who lives with her vain stepmother, the Queen. Concerned that Snow White might surpass her beauty, the Queen forces her into servitude as a scullery maid and daily asks her Magic Mirror who is the fairest of them all. For years, the Mirror responds that the Queen is, much to her satisfaction. However, one day, the Mirror declares Snow White to be the fairest. Discovering seven small chairs in the dining room, she assumes the home belongs to seven orphaned children. With the help of the animals, she cleans the house and prepares a meal. The home, however, belongs to seven kind dwarfs who work in a nearby mine and with whom Snow White forms a fun and truthful friendship.
