Seelie Court - the world's premier label for rare and previously unreleased archive recordings of underground folk, rock, proto-metal, and psychedelic music presents Hellmet's lege ndary 1970 LP. Emerged from decades of obscurity to redefine proto metal and heavy psych. Long thought lost or mythical, the album blends the raw power of early Led Zeppelin with Cream-inspired improvisation and Steve Day's demonic, baroque lead guitar. It's five tracks, including the epic Judgement Day, traverse heroin addiction, torture, and doomed romance under a dense, melancholic, doom-laden atmosphere. Initially cut as acetates at Oak Studios and vanishing into legend, the LP resurfaced in 2020-21, thrilling collectors and prog enthusiasts alike. With Gustave Doré-inspired artwork and searing, complex compositions, Hellmet stands as a monumental rediscovery in heavy prog history.
