Don’t let your investment starve. You brought in the "good guys" (predatory mites) to protect your plants. But what happens when they’ve eaten all the pests? Or what if you want to release them before the thrips arrive? Without food, your mites will either starve, cannibalize each other, or wander off in search of greener pastures. Enter the Breeder’s Blend. This isn't just "bug food." It is a scientifically formulated tri-blend diet designed to turn your plants into a predatory mite fortress. We use the exact same ingredients commercial insectaries use to rear millions of mites, now available for your home collection. The Science: A Complete Nutrition Profile We skipped the cheap fillers (like corn grit or bran) and created a balanced "macro" profile. This blend is 100% active nutrition designed specifically for generalist mites like ** Amblyseius swirskii, Neoseiulus cucumeris, and Amblyseius californicus.** Cattail Pollen (Typha): The "Rocket Fuel." Provides high-energy carbohydrates that keep your mites active, hunting, and patrolling your leaves. Decapsulated Artemia Eggs: The "Protein Spike." These shell-free brine shrimp eggs are packed with complex proteins and lipids that trigger fecundity (egg laying). Brewer's Yeast (Inactive): The "Vitamin Boost." Rich in B-vitamins and micronutrients, this essential component supports mite gut health and longevity. The Result: Studies show that a diversified diet can boost predatory mite reproduction by up to 300%. This allows you to build a "standing army" of defenders that are ready and waiting the moment a pest shows up. Which Size Do I Need? Our formula is ultra-concentrated. A little goes a long way. 10g Jar | The "Hobbyist" Best for: Windowsills, IKEA Greenhouse Cabinets, or collections under 50 plants. Supply: Lasts 6–12 months for average collections. Verdict: The perfect entry-level insurance policy for your prized specific plants. 25g Jar | The "Collector" (Best Value) Best for: Large rooms, 4x4 Grow Tents, or collections of 50–150 plants. Supply: Lasts 6+ months for heavy users. Verdict: Our most popular size. Ideal for maintaining a "standing army" of mites year-round in a large tent. 50g Jar | The "Propagator" Best for: Greenhouses, nurseries, or commercial propagation spaces (200+ plants). Supply: Bulk supply for professional use. Verdict: Maximum economy for growers who release mites monthly. How to Use (The "Fairy Dust" Method) Overfeeding can cause mold, so think "seasoning a steak," not "breading a cutlet." Grab a Brush: Use a clean, dry artist’s paintbrush or makeup brush. Dip & Tap: Dip the brush into the jar to pick up a fine coating of dust. The Snowfall: Hold the brush over your plant (focusing on nodes and new growth) and tap the handle. Watch for a very fine, barely-visible "snow" of yellow dust to settle on the leaves. Repeat: Apply once every 10–14 days. Specs & Safety Ingredients: Typha Pollen, Decapsulated Artemia Cysts, Inactive Brewer's Yeast. Storage: Keep Refrigerated! This is real food. Keep the jar in your fridge to maintain freshness for up to 12 months. Safe for Pets: Yes. Ingredients are natural. (Note: Contains shellfish). ⚠️ Pro Tip: Handling Pests This blend is extremely high-energy. If you currently have a massive, active Thrips outbreak, pause supplemental feeding. You want the mites to be hungry enough to hunt the thrips first! Resume feeding Breeder's Blend once the pest population is under control to maintain your colony. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Which mites eat Breeder's Blend? This diet is highly effective for generalist predatory mites, specifically: Amblyseius swirskii Neoseiulus cucumeris Amblyseius californicus Amblyseius andersoni Amblyseius montdorensis Note: This blend is not suitable for Phytoseiulus persimilis, as they are specialized spider mite hunters and will not eat pollen or eggs. Can I use this if I already have Thrips? It depends on the severity. Low/Early Infestation: Yes. It will help the mites build their population to overtake the pests. Heavy/Active Outbreak: We recommend pausing supplemental feeding. If there are thousands of thrips, let the mites hunt the natural prey first. Resume feeding Breeder's Blend once the pest numbers drop to keep your predators around. How do I store the jar? Because this is a natural, preservative-free food source, it must be kept cool. Fridge: Keeps fresh for 12 months. Freezer: Keeps fresh for 2+ years. Room Temp: Avoid leaving it in hot grow tents or direct sunlight for long periods. Is it safe for pets and people? Yes. The ingredients are 100% natural. Allergy Warning: This product contains shellfish (Artemia cysts). If you have a severe shellfish allergy, please handle with care or wear gloves. Why is Brewer's Yeast included? While pollen provides energy and Artemia provides protein, Brewer's Yeast provides essential B-vitamins that are often missing from a pure pollen diet. It ensures your mites are not just eating, but thriving with a complete nutritional profile.
