Expose the Chest: Quickly but carefully remove any clothing covering the chest. Use scissors if necessary to cut through fabric. Position the Patient: Lay the patient on a firm, flat surface to facilitate effective chest compressions and defibrillation. Check for Jewelry and Accessories: Remove any necklaces, bras, or metal objects from the chest area to prevent burns and ensure proper pad adhesion.
