Guppies are a fast growing fish (especially if kept in harmer temperature waters) with a lifespan of 2-3 years. Due to their somewhat short lifespan, they have to reproduce fast. They are a livebearer fish, meaning they give birth to live babies, and can have on average 50 babies, every 30-45 days. Male guppies are always smaller and more colorful than females. Males can grow up to 1.2" and females up to 2.2".
