The result is the negoce labelled Chardonnay that has incredible mineral drive. It’s fairly fleshy but there’s so much acid it just cuts it in half. A beauty from one of the region's very best. 100% Chardonnay. Domaine Du Bouchot - Pouilly-Fume "Caillottes" 2022 Ripe citrus fruit, dried apricot and floral character, enriched by a dense layer of smooth minerals on the nose and palate. Domaine Belargus - Anjou "Ronceray" 2022 The 2022 Ronceray is derived from vines planted on the Quarts-de-Chaume appellation but vinified as dry white wine. It reveals a complex, deep bouquet with aromas of almonds, white flowers, orchard fruits and white pepper combined with a reductive character. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and satiny, it has a deep core of fruit that segues into a tense, gently austere finish. Domaine 47N3E - Chablis "Cairn" 2022 Extra breadth to this nose – framed with an immodest oak – but becomes a more and more perfumed nose – air reducing the impact of the barrel. A rounder impression in the mouth – fine texture and a faint grain of tannin. A wine that impresses but I’d personally be waiting 3-5 years for the barrel to fade. Both fine and very strong, it is one of those chenins carried by a beautiful salivating acidity which gives them a very long finish. Domaine Sparr - Riesling Grand Cru "Brand" 2020 Such an elegant wine for this Grand Cru that tends towards aromatic richness, the pineapple and basil notes very delicate on the nose. On the medium-to full-bodied palate there’s more succulence, but even there the crushed-stone minerality keeps everything very cool and straight.
