Like most crafters, I find myself saving even the smallest paper scraps because I never know when I might need them. And though I may not use all of them, it’s always satisfying to find the perfect finishing touch for what I’m working on. That feeling was especially true recently when I was wrapping a small bar of soap and a box of reusable cotton wipes for a friend. The plain kraft paper I wrapped each item in wasn’t enough, and they were so small that I had no choice but to pull out my basket of scraps. I was delighted to find pieces saved from Tim Holtz’s Worn Wallpaper Scraps, which I thought worked perfectly with the organic feel of the kraft paper. To Make: Wrap each item with the kraft paper. Trim or tear the paper scraps to the size desired, and glue them, along with a postage stamp to the kraft paper. Tie a length of twine around each package, tucking dried flowers into the knot.If you’d like to make a faux wax stamp to add to the package, squeeze a nickel-size dropof hot glue onto parchment paper, and while it is still hot, press a stamp into the glue. Let the glue cool down and then lift up the stamp to reveal the impression. Glue the stamp onto the package as desired.
